SLIPPs European patient safety conference 4th June a great success with over 60 delegates from 5 countries.

Multiple universities and health care organisations were represented.

An inspirational talk was given by the keynote speaker Dr Suzette Woodward, Senior Advisor to the UK Department of Health and Social Care (see her slides in the learning centre).

Dr Woodward posed a series of stimulating ideas regarding the ways in which patient safety is viewed and called for alternative viewpoints and thinking – towards a restorative just culture.

The SLIPPs team members gave a range of presentations which showcased the projects work and outputs. The presentations prompted much discussion and a wide range of positive and encouraging comments regarding the applicability of the resources and exciting ideas for the future.

Practitioners, educators and researchers attended and enjoyed an interesting day – the SLIPPs team would like to thank all who attended and hope to take forward many of the offers to collaborate and suggestions for future projects.
