“Lucy Patterson is a registered general nurse and registered midwife. She is currently working at Northumbria University as a Senior Research Assistant for the SLIPPS project, and also as a lecturer.
Lucy’s nursing career was based in Critical Care for 8 years, then 4 years as a Resuscitation Training Officer, and also Clinical Skills Practitioner. It was in her role as a Resuscitation Officer that she became involved in Patient Safety, which included local and national cardiac arrest audits. Lucy’s specific interest in this area is around educating healthcare staff around identifying clinical deterioration.
As a midwifery lecturer, she is involved in taught sessions about patient safety in maternity care, and is an Associate Fellow of HEA.”
